Position Summary

Postal Associates are responsible for the receipt and delivery of all campus postage. This position is part-time, working 12-28 hours per week.

Essential Functions

1.      Maintain the highest standards of service and hospitality.

2.      Sort and organize incoming mail for students, faculty, guests, and departments.

3.      Deliver mail to P.O. Boxes and campus departments twice daily, collecting and sending outgoing mail when requested.

4.      Organize and apply postage to outgoing mail pieces, including operation of a mail meter machine.

5.      Sell and distribute stamps and mailing supplies at the Post Office window.

6.      Close and balance register daily.

7.      Help with keeping the workplace neat and organized at all times.

8.      Assist students, faculty, and guests to choose the most appropriate postage solutions.

9.      File data on several electronic files and reports.

10.  Keep record of student and faculty P.O. Boxes.

11.  A “team” mentality, that is, a readiness to assist any and all co-workers at the Riley Center and Naylor Student Center to aid the team in        fulfilling our common goals.

Physical Requirements

1.      Manual dexterity to perform repeated and quick motions with hands and arms to grasp and move objects.

2.      Visual Acuity to perform tasks safely and effectively.

3.      Ability to stand, lift, carry, and walk for up to eight hours.

4.      Exert force with muscles in trunk, arms and legs to push, pull, carry, lift, or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

5.      Ability to twist, bend, reach overhead with arms, and stretch.

Computer Skills Required

Basic computer proficiency.
