Duties

As a Public Health Analyst you will:

Serve as the centers lead and senior regulatory advisor and analyst, providing comprehensive scientific and technical guidance and leadership to state and local government agencies, health related organizations, private and public
foundations, in the development, extension and improvement of regulatory compliance for assays and reagents used in the center.
Participate in regulatory inspections and in-depth audits, assessments, or investigations of various industry establishments, such as reagent manufacturers for cleared tests.
Serve as a leading center authority and integrates knowledge and experience of public health programs and policies to provide guidance on cross cutting procedural and multilayered and multifaceted policy issues to other components of the agency and other governmental agencies.
Serve on review committees, study groups, public health task groups, or comparable groups delegated responsibility for reviewing and developing public health policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) process enhancement to use Shared Certificates throughout the Agency, some of the requirements below may differ:

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify at the GS-14 grade level , you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: planning, analyzing, evaluating, and/or implementing public health programs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
