POSITION SUMMARY

As the Production Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the manufacturing processes and leading a team of production employees. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient production operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity. This particular opportunity will oversee our Soft Gel operations.

Located in Henderson, Nevada, near the exciting and diverse community of Las Vegas, ProCaps Laboratories is a large and rapidly growing manufacturer with approximately 350 employees that markets several hundred dietary supplement SKUs, along with an expanding line of functional foods (bars, packets, bottles, etc.)

WHAT YOU BRING (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS)

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Minimum of 2 years proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the vitamin and/or food industry. Soft Gel manufacturing supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP).
Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and engage a diverse team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Proficiency in using manufacturing software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demand

SUPERVISOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Be on the production floor at least 80% of the time
Be an active driver on issues impacting employee safety, product quality, line efficiency, and process improvement:
- Repairs
  - Initiating monitoring repair as needed
  - Validating/follow through of repair
- Downtime
  - Monitoring and reducing downtime
  - Participating in efforts to resolve issues
- Challenges
  - Assessment and resolution of production issues
Gain/have the technical knowledge:
- Knowledge of Soft Gel manufacturing
- Quality checks, quality process, testing requirements
- Preventative maintenance schedules, updates
- Tool management/inventory
- Material management, pick lists, scanning, inventory transactions and recording of usage, including lot reconciliations
- Upstream and downstream processes that could affect the completion of the daily production schedule
Ensure and monitor that Operators are:
- Following procedures
- Performing quality checks, taking proper action
- Performing set up correctly/documenting
- Meeting change over targets and run rate targets
- Performing all required tasks and documentation in PCLE
Facilitate interactions between operators, maintenance, and quality
Produce, a narrative summarizing schedule adherence, equipment/personnel performance, deviations in quality, changes to accepted standards, and commentary on future improvements

WHAT YOU’LL DO (ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

Production Supervision and Leadership:

Lead and supervise a team of production (Soft Gel and Bar Line) employees, providing guidance, coaching, and training as necessary.
Ensure the smooth execution of production schedules, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet production targets.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting teamwork, accountability, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Operational Excellence:

Oversee the manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Monitor and optimize production efficiency, identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address equipment issues, minimize downtime, and maximize uptime.

Quality Assurance and Control:

Implement and enforce quality control measures, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
Investigate and address any quality concerns or non-conformities, working closely with the Quality Assurance department to resolve issues promptly.
Champion a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement within the production team.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure a safe work environment by promoting and enforcing safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations.
Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to enhance employee awareness and prevent accidents or incidents.
Maintain compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inventory records, and performance metrics.
Generate regular reports on production performance, highlighting key indicators, trends, and areas for improvement.
Provide timely updates to management on production status, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
