IT Support Associate 1

We have an excellent opportunity for a Contract I.T. Support Associate 1 to join our team.

This position is on-site at our Pasadena office Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Summary:
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of IT systems, and for providing on-site support and solutions to employees for their technology needs.

Job Duties Include:

Provides IT support to laboratory and office employees
Provides service, training and support for first-level end-users, assisting with software and hardware requests and problems
Provides onsite support and support to remote workforce for technical break/fix issues and ongoing understanding of IT/business needs
Provisions and deprovisions end-user accounts, access-levels, software and hardware
Maintains and supports both standard business and laboratory environments
Creates, updates, and reviews departmental documentation (procedures, support tickets, and knowledge base)
Maintains software and hardware inventory
Assist with procurement of IT software and hardware
Serves as a general backup to all higher-level IT staff
Assist with IT projects as assigned
Adheres to strict rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines in all IT related work
Keeps up to date on IT related training as required
Provides rotational on-call coverage
Adheres to all department and company-wide policies regarding conduct, performance and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Position requires a High School diploma and a minimum of 1 year of related experience; associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in a regulated business environment/industry and understanding of Governance, Risk, Compliance, and/or Cybersecurity concepts preferred. Previous experience in IT support, software and hardware research, recommendation, installation, configuration, maintenance, and/or monitoring preferred.

Position also requires:

Functional knowledge of endpoint administration covering security, desktops, laptops, smart phones, printers/scanners, conference systems, and peripherals preferred
Strong functional knowledge of business applications including Windows Operating system and Microsoft Office 365
Basic knowledge of system administration covering security, hardware, software, updates, and backups
Basic knowledge of network administration covering security, networking protocols, firewalls, routers, switches, and network appliances
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills working with the IT team, internal business units, partners, third-party vendors and regulators
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Basic understanding of both technical and business aspects to problems and solutions
Excellent customer service and documentation skills.
Ability to demonstrate competencies applicable for job based on Xencor’s Leadership Competency Model

Additional Requirements for Laboratory and Research Related Jobs
This role may involve exposure to experimental subjects and/or specimens including infected samples, plus various Hazardous Materials and infectious agents (Bloodborne Pathogens, or other potentially infections materials (OPIMs). Therefore, the following are also required:

Ability to follow the established Environmental Health & Safety rules, procedures, and/or BioSafety Guidelines
Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)
Knowledge of biosafety techniques and aseptic/gowning practices
Experience with laboratory safety standards and procedures, including biohazard handling and disposal techniques, and the ability to ensure laboratory compliance with required safety regulations

Expected Hourly Pay Range: $27.00 - $31.00
The actual salary will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, including skills, competencies, education and experience.
