**Experimental Test Pilot**

at Xwing Concord CA Xwing is seeking an experienced Test Pilot to join our team to develop and test our Cessna 208B Caravan fitted with our AutoFlight System during developmental testing both as onboard PIC and as a remote Ground Station Operator.

**Example Responsibilities:**

* Participate in experimental ground/flight testing as the PIC and remote operator with a crew possessing diverse backgrounds and experiences

* Collaborate with the engineering and human factors teams on the development and evaluation of the PIC and GCS interface

* Support Certification Team with Flight Test Plans/Cert Reports and evaluate FAA Automation guidance to develop unique cert requirements under Part 23

* Assist with the design and implementation of safety pilot and remote operator training program

* Develop/update flight manuals, checklists and procedures

* Support test planning, hazard analysis and mitigation, and test reporting

* Evaluate planned test maneuvers and conditions for safety and feasibility

* Coordinate with the FAA, ATC, and Airport Operations

* Participate in the flight release process for software and hardware modifications

* Participate in briefings and debriefings for technical and operational exchanges of information in a group settings

* Interface with maintainers, engineers, management, press, customers, and investors

Flight Test requires in person work, flexible work hours, and the potential to travel to support occasional domestic deployments.

**Required Qualifications:**

* FAA Commercial Pilot License and Instrument Rating

* Current FAA Class II Medical

* A minimum of 2,000 hours total flight time

* A minimum of 1,000 hours pilot in command flight time

* A minimum of 250 hours turbine flight time

* Demonstrated experience with experimental flight test methods and safety culture

* Demonstrated application of Crew Resource Management principles

* Demonstrated experience with Human Factors Design and Evaluation

* Demonstrated experience with Part 23/25 Certification

* Communication and teamwork skills

* BS in a related engineering field, can be substituted with significant developmental flight test experience for otherwise highly qualified candidates

**Desirable qualifications**:

* Graduate of an SETP recognized test pilot school

* Previous experience operating remotely piloted/controlled aircraft

* FAA ATP License & CFII

* Cessna 208 PIC time
